PICTURE OF THE MONTH

Wow...our dance partners from the garba dance. One of the most beautiful pictures I've taken with the most beautiful girls.

This entry will not go into our archives but rather stay here on this page for everlasting glory - not because Jabali's going to be back, but because this web site is going to be upgraded with another one. The site address will be announced shortly.

Now for some news. Jabali is set for his comeback after adventures in the wilderness beyond the 'safe' reaches of America. He will set foot on this blessed Chicago-land area on Saturday. His arrival will be duly noted by those loyal to him and will come as a shock for those who still regard his disappearance as a mystery.

For the latter types, Jabali was sent back to India by his parents in the hopes that the Indian culture would help him focus his life. This happened despite attempts from friends to stop his parents from doing so. Alas, everyone's nightmares came true as Jabali got the worst of India. Bits of news came regarding his disturbing lifestyle and his refusal to attend school. His life in a village was overshadowed by what he claims as 'aimless' followers of faith and reason-less people - a people with the fear of taboos. After living in what he calls a total 'Hell', his mother went to India to assess the situation, and that resulted in Jabali being brough back to the U.S. One can assume that what his mother saw was shocking. Jabali's arrival back into the States was a welcome relief for his friends back in Chicago, and now his first visit to the area since he left will be of grave anticipation.

Let's just hope Jabali now re-starts his new life with a bang.

[Log 17: Saturday, June 5, 2004]
GOING TO INDIA

It has been two years since I've been back to my home country. I will be going for approximately a month and a half and return before college preparations begin. So anyone looking to catch a glimpse of me will still be able to do so. Well anyway, I haven't really finalized my plans but I am traveling alone in India. It's going to be a lot of fun.

The last time I went to India, I visited Aurangabad - the site of many 16th and 17th century Mogul forts, an antiquated Mahal, and ancient caves. This year, I plan to visit Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and of course, my home state of Maharashtra.

An ancient Mahal in Aurangabad

I will travel alone and I will definitely try to keep a journal so that you can actually grasp what I'm going through. I will miss many of you while I'm there, but I've got to go see my family and friends in India. Till then, please await my return. If you'd like to contact me while I'm in India, e-mail me at godbole_rohit@hotmail.com. Thanks everyone!

D-DAY 60 YEARS ON
The significance of this day 60 years ago is paramount. It is important that we all learn from history and honor those who died in service of a noble cause.
