I knew it was going to be one of those days from the time Dev arrived 30 minutes late to Newell who almost rammed Dev's car from the side crushing Alex besides it. Had it not been for my yelp and clutching of the chest area, this would really have happened and instead of gazing at the beauty of a Ferrari, we would've had to visit the cemetery in a Lincoln. But in any case, we left with a few tantrums from certain people highlighting the realities of Newell's driving. But the fears were quelled (somewhat) by Newell's commanding, "Everyone, just chill ok." But sometimes, the swerving across two lanes at 70 mph got the best of us. We had a little misunderstanding with the parking and the entrances, but finally the group was together...except for THE ONE MISSING TICKET. Alas, Dev had to buy another ticket. That was not to change the mood of the day though, there was much more ahead. We broke up into two groups and wandered around the Toyotas first, then the Lexus, Acura, and Honda. It was already looking to be the best show I had been to in my three times of visiting. Everyone started showing signs of fatigue and hunger after a fantastic showing of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, the BMWs, Scions, Rovers, Mercedes, Audis, Porsches, and Volkswagens. Not to also mention the Maybach (freaking expensive and stylish), Rolls Royce, and Aston Martin. But as we stood around, Newell dragged us back to something we all had and would've missed, the EXOTIC cars. The Ferraris, Lamborghinis, weird cars that I can't name. Then the glamour and opulence of the show died and all that was left was Lincoln, Kia, Chevrolet (which I don't recall seeing a great deal of), and Mercury. Interestingly enough, I did snap some shots of the Hummer and then we oozed along to the newest trend among...rappers...or Oldsmobile! The cars were schnazzy and riveting. What more can I say, hunger drew us away from the domestic cars and we weaved through painfully through the Hyundai section, stopping to look at some street-illegal cars with flashing lights. The time finally arrived and with Newell a mile in front of us, we left once again...to Rosa's restaurant on Congress Street. It was a fabulous place with a choice of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and something I can't remember. The food was excellent though. I ordered Chow Mien noodles, but after I saw other peoples' dishes, I wanted those too. By this time, we were all famished, ready to dig into anything. And so we did! The table was quiet for the beginning of the gobbling, but it loosened up after a few shots of whiskey...er...water. Oh I almost forgot, with Rosa's erroneous directions, Newell drove us straight into the south side of Chicago, and we were all scared shitless. Having heard stories that'll make you alert for every bullet whizzing past. Nothing of that sort happened, but we did stop at a gas station and filled up some gas (living in the burbs has a new meaning for me). Well thats the end, we all got back home safely after about 200 pictures (not to mention Anubhav forgot his memory card at home and Jon Li's batteries died after 10 pictures). I will post some really nice pictures from the car show, and soon I am going to burn a CD of the pictures for y'all to enjoy!
