ALEX'S PROM SKIT... By Rohit (May 10th, 2004) "Yo, Rohit, you gotta help me. Come to Central with me during lunch," Alex said as he hurried off mumbling plans of how he was going to ask this Asian girl at Central. I thought to myself that this was again going to be one of those ill-planned events. Well as it turns out, the plan was horrible and it was carried out even worse. Actually, the idea was fine, a bit clichéd but still unique in some aspects (as you will see). Well anyway, so we headed to Central in two cars: Jason's, Alex's and Xiao Lin's. I was in Jason's car. We got there, and from there the whole plan crumbled. I don't even know if we were supposed to 'act' this out in front of central or not. The girl came out before anyone had expected to and we (Anubhav, Jason, Jon H., and myself) shared blank stares for a long time. It was Xiao Lin's and Sully's quick thinking that saved Alex's date. So, we were supposed to follow a skit. The story was pretty much that we were a horrible gang of pirates come there to pillage central, and as an added bonus, we kidnap this girl. We were to put her in our car and 'pretend' to drive off, when suddenly Alex comes much to our 'surprise'. Jason kept giggling most of the time. Well anyway, I was the first one up and I am deafened with a weak blow from Alex and I fall to the ground. Then comes Anubhav, who is winded by Alex's fierce punches. I don't even know where Jon H. went, but I guess he was too 'scared' to face Alex. Jason put up a 'real' fight with Alex. This was going on for so damn long while she just stood there and knew that at the end, Alex had some way of producing a flower from his ass and asking her. It was almost embarrassing for me to see her watching Alex fight like an rabid cat. I mean, once the little skit had fallen apart, a man must quickly make his move. Well anyway, this while car pulled up just as Alex and Jason were done fighting and Alex took the girl behind one of the parked cars. He sternly asked, "Hello gentlemen, what's going on here?" We were all dumbfounded, but I managed a description of the situation. Very soon, a whole contingent of NARQs came out thinking there was a fight going on (oh, and even a cop). The cop had a little chat with Alex, and pretty soon, we were cleared to go back. I just couldn't help but think that this was probably the worst executed skit I had been a part of (and the blame doesn't entirely fall on Alex). In any case, the end result is what matters and yes, he is going to prom with a hot Asian girl. I wish I had some pictures (or better yet, a video) of this event, but I don't. So, boohoo.
