BOOK RATINGS

My reading consists of various types of literature, but as of yet, I have not focused on heavy literature (like Shakespeare for example). Here are the ratings and titles below.

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings (page 330/458) (__/10)
Oedipus the King (9.1/10)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (9.0/10)
A Clockwork Orange (7.1/10)

REVIEWS: A CLOCKWORK ORANGE (7.1/10)

As I began reading this book, I had bland thoughts in my mind. Like unsalted butter. I had no idea what was going on, nor was the esoteric language helping me understand. It was just a bunch of disturbing teenagers going around and creating a havoc. This book was also for a school project, so I did not much concentrate on finishing it (spark notes!). But as I kept on reading, it enveloped me. I WANTED to finish the book, even though the school project was over and I had BS-ed it.

The initial parts of the book might be just weird (but interesting), the story takes a fantastic turn in the middle, and becomes really engrossing. The end is good too. Some parts which were not clear at the beginning became clear as a bell and importantly, I even understood words that the author had been using since the beginning of the read, and they're not even in the dictionary!

So I recommend this book to any readers above 16 years of age (because below that you probably will not be able to relate or understand the language). I rate this book 6 out of 10 stars.

Widely Circulated Story during Summer...(8.28.03)

UPDATE: Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have an update for the story below. Seems like one of the candidates in this apparent power struggle has accepted defeat and left the side of his beloved...more like forced to leave side. So the matter seems to be over, all that's left is the clean-up of mess left over from the struggle between two hormone enraged males.

STRUGGLES: They say love goes hand in hand...but what if there are 2 hands for every hand. Its awkward, but that is the situation right now in the Asian Posse. This situation could be aptly dubbed: The Love Struggle. It is the essence of life (competition is) and the only story available for Indian movies. But alas, who could've ever thought it would happen right here, on the Asian Posse premises. Well it has and it had turned into a power struggle, a ferocious competition amongst males for a female. There have been massive urination pools around the female's house and the only thing one of the males lacks is resources (i.e. car).

Who will get the princess?!

There is an update in the situation and looks like someone HAS gotten the princess after all after one of the contestants accepted defeat and decided to move along in life in search of another mate.

I was right...(6.13.03)

Turns out I was right, I've been given the biggest blow of my life. This semester was the worst in my life. I probably got the worst GPA and my cumulative GPA dropped also. What does that mean? That means that my chances for attending a good colleges have been hampered a bit. So, now I have taken a vow...never to screw around and to do my best next semester albeit the fact that senior year is not as important as Junior, but hopefully colleges will realize that I do have potential.

NEW SCHEDULE (Junior Year 2nd Semester)
2.1.03
My schedule for 2nd semester sucks big time. At least it is worst than the 1st one.

1 ENALC My first impression: Stupid class, this is where every damn word has 10 different meanings and everything can be interpreted in a million different ways. As for the class, its not interesting and NOW I WISH I WAS BACK IN HELL FROM WHENCE I CAME: BELLISARIO
My second impression:
Actually this class isn't that bad. The work load is fine, the classmates are fine (excluding the sycophants), and the teacher is not as mean as she looks.
2 Spanish III My first impression: Another boring class. People aren't that funny. We just sit there and go over homework. The teacher talks way too fast and cracks the worst jokes. Muy aburrido.
My second Impression:
This class is still boring. The teacher is still NOT funny but has improved her stupidity. No complaints about classmates.
3 US History My first impression: With Eby, this is where my day gets interesting. The class is fun and relaxing.
My second impression: Mr. Eby has good questions and his tests are usually essay.
4 Adv. Bio My first impression: Oooh, tough class. Shit-load of memorization.
My second impression: This class is pretty cool. A LOT TO LEARN. Cool (and hot) teacher.
5 PE My first impression: I hate this class too. Very boring. There is almost no one there I know. My 1st semester class was AMAZING....now I have been thrown back to hell.
My second impression:
6 Lunch!!! ...Boring. THE ONLY DAMN PERSON I KNOW IS NICK and Jabali
7 Enr. Physics My first impression: Not as cool as last semester, although Duncan is still there.
My second impression: Wilverding is cooler, but the class is still boring. Duncan is not as dynamic as 1st semester.
8 Hnrs. Adv. Alg. My first impression: This class has lost its frootiness after Hamza left. It was the greatest class ever. Now, its filled with sycophants, filthy fat suck-ups, smart-asses, teacher's pets, jackasses, etc. (Not that there weren't any in my previous class, but they were funny to watch).
My second impression: Much harder than 1st semester.
